<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Its been a long while since I've posted on my Blog. What happened? I went back to work, but after a year working retail, I knew I was ignoring my passion (sharing and teaching with Close to My Heart). So I decided to quit my job and take the Summer off with my boys (now 17, 15, & 6). I was also lucky enough to attend my first ever (in 8 years as a consultant) Close to My Heart Annual Convention! This is where it really sunk in that I wanted to be doing more with CTMH. I wanted a space where I could teach classes, outside of my home and be creative. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It all came together when I was offered a space not far from home, at an affordable price. So, I will now be able to offer weekly classes, open crop evenings, occasional Day Crops and more.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As you may know, I have been very lucky to be on the planning team for </span><a href="http://www.bccropforkids.ca/" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: red;">BC <span id="goog_593964038"></span>Crop for Kids<span id="goog_593964039"></span></span></span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: red;">.</span> This year is no different. The 2015 BC Crop for Kids is Oct. 2-4th in Abbotsford. Please click the link to check it out. You can view the classes, sign up for the crop and/or classes. You are also welcome to just come shop the vendors! BC Crop for kids raises money for BC Children's Hospital.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My weekly classes in South Surrey will begin the first week of October and we will be featuring three new patterns this month: Zoe, Sangria and Nevermore.</span></div>

<strong><span style="font-size: large;">Balloon Ride & My Creations Journaling Card Box</span></strong><br />
<br />
The first Card box I worked on was one to store a set of Picture My Life Journaling Cards in. I am actually planning to give this as a gift to a friend expecting a baby. I will put the "Babycakes" Journaling Cards inside.<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Balloon Ride - Picture My Life journaling card box</td></tr>

I decorated the box with <strong>Balloon Ride</strong> paper ($9.95/ pack), <strong>Believe in Yourself</strong> stamp set ($13.95 each) and some bling: <strong>Sparkles Flourishes</strong> ($4.95 ea) and some<strong> Rosewood mini-medley Accents</strong> ($5.95). All the papers and the edges of the box were edge distressed with chocolate ink and our sponge dauber. I also used the Cricut Artiste to cut out the Balloon shape.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is a close up of the beautiful bling I used on this box. I love using the Sparkle Flourishes . . . they make it so easy to add a perfect swirl of bling to your projects.</div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>Ivy Lane & My Creations Card Box</strong></span><br />
<br />
For my second box I used our <strong>Ivy Lane</strong> paper ($9.95/pack), a tiny strip of our <strong>Brown & Tan Glitter</strong> paper ($5.95/3sheets) and the <strong>Black Sparkle Flourishes</strong> ($4.95 set) and a flower made with the Ivy lane paper and our exclusive Cricut Cartridge "Art Philosophy". Instead of a card box, I made a jewellery or treasure box! Look how nice my<strong> Base & Bling Pendant necklace</strong> looks inside!<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
When I first made this box, it seemed unfinished to me . . . actually, I wasn't going to display it! But then, my Close to My Heart order arrived surprisingly early (in four days!!!) so I decided to add the black sparkle flourishes. Considering it's a jewellery box, perhaps you'll forgive the extra bling?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The title was done using the Font on our <strong>Artbooking</strong> Cricut Cartridge. Again, all edges were distressed with chocolate ink and a sponge dauber. And did you notice the big scallop edges? This is the <strong>Art Philosophy</strong> scalloped rectangle Cricut Cartridge Shape.</div>
<br />
Thanks for taking a peek at this months artwork! See you next month!<br />

I totally stole this idea from my friend Carmen who made one in her SU card club. Yeah, I know. I typed SU... But hey a great idea is a great Idea!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So I CTMH'ed that idea up with our new Ivy Lane paper pack, Feb 2014 stamp of the month and a bunch cricut cuts! This is what I came up with:</div>
<br />

I was able to find a full template and instructions at: <a href="http://extremecards.blogspot.ca/2014/02/card-in-box-pop-up.html">http://extremecards.blogspot.ca/2014/02/card-in-box-pop-up.html</a> she's done a great job of explaining how to create the base. The colour, décor and theme are up to you. I think, with a little play, you could adjust the size to fit a standard 4 1/4x5 1/2 envelope, or whatever size you like best!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This is a hard time of year . . . I have the new Spring / Summer Close to My Heart Idea Book. I've had it for several weeks. I am in love with it! But I can't share with you . . .yet!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The new Idea book goes live Feb 1, 2014. And while us CTMH consultants have been able to order a few goodies for ourselves to prep with, we can't sell the new stuff just yet!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So, I am going to be teaching some classes at the "Ultimate Scrapbooking Retreat" next weekend at Loon Lake, just north of Maple Ridge, BC. I was challenged to come up with a new class but can't really use the new product just yet. Boo!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Anyway, I took a look at my inventory and noticed I had several sets of the "You are my Happy" left from the Spring 2013 Campaign. This is a 3 sheet set with an alphabet, card comments and images. It is equivalent to 3 "D" size stamp sets valued at just under $54, and I'm selling them for $15.00 each. So I designed a card class around this stamp set, using four of my favorite paper packs from 2013.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I was also able to snag a bunch of our craft paper envelopes that were recently on the "While supplies last" page, so I've incorporated craft paper into each card and used the cricut cartridges in each card too!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Participants will make two each of the following:</div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">Today was the last day of school before Christmas break, pajama day and it snowed for the first time this winter! A Trifecta! It was also Christmas craft day in the Kindergarten.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">If you read my last post you will know that I planned to make Christmas Crackers with the kids. Clearly - I didn't know my crowd.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">So I had all the paper cut (I used bulk Sparkle & Shine and Bulk Frosted) all the sook wang applied, I had cut several wintery & Christmassy shapes with our CTMH Cricut Cartridges and then pre glued then using my Zyron Sticker makers (Love these BTW and need a wider size, like 5"??) All the kids had to do was roll a 6"x12" piece of Cardstock into a tube, crinkle the ends, fill, tie and decorate. I wound up doing all the tube rolling, all the pucker pinching and most of the ribbon tying. However, we wound up with 19 Students eager to take these goodies home and pull the snaps! But the finished products looked nothing like what I had imagined. I'm a control freak. However, none of the kids seemed to notice and all seemed quite delighted with their finished work. So, I guess that's all that really counts.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">This week has been so busy with Christmas activities, add a few unexpected emergencies (My husband, getting over Bronchitis, coughed while driving to work and he passed out - taking out 3 other cars. Everyone is okay, no major injuries thank GOD, but at least 2 of the four vehicles were totalled - my husbands brand new Pick-up truck included. Now he can't drive until the cough is totally gone, Can't risk that again)... Anyway . . .I had planned to make Reindeer Nose treats for my sons classmates as Christmas gifts . . but ran out of time. At 11:30pm last night I chose bed. I stand by my decision.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">On the bright side my son has a hockey team of 20 players . . . so tonight we sat down and made these together:</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">We used mostly CTMH product . . . with the exception of the googly eyes and the treats of course.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">First I perused the cartridges to see what shapes I could use for the Reindeer head. I chose the Owl from the Artiste Cartridge and the Antlers are actually snowflakes from the Artbooking cartridge. Each snowflake did 3 reindeer.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">I made the noses by taping two rows of our red glitter tape and stick to a left over backing from the chalkboard sheets. These are great, because with normal cutting, the backing doesn't get cut, just the glitter tape. So you can see a small line across most of the noses - this is why, its actually two pieces. The nose size I made was 3/4". I could have gone smaller, or bigger by added a row of tape, but liked this size. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">I used one of our discontinued journaling pens (please give us a replacement for journaling CTMH) to draw different smiles on each one. Ryan glued all the eyeballs on, can you tell? </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">I then stuck these all to the scalloped square card on the Art Philosophy cartridge. Its had to tell from my terrible pic, but I used the bulk Frosted paper for this, its the neutral coloured snowflake side. On the back is a sticker that says "Reindeer Noses", Merry Christmas from Ryan.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">This was a far more appropriate craft level for a kindergartener. He glued the eyes using glue dots, and he glued the heads to the card with a glue stick. I then had him do the stickers on the back. We were able to work side by side for over an hour doing these, with him staying on track with what I was doing. Cutting, drawing, filling bags, stapling closed. Ryan had so much fun, he was talking to the reindeer and playing with them as he worked. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">As the mom of three boys - craft time with my kids is not a regular occurrence. Nice to be able to make something simple, homemade and far from perfect but made by a Kid. I'm sure his team mates will agree!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: large;">Maybe next year I'll get smart and have the kids make these instead of crackers?</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: large;">Merry Christmas Papercrafting Friends!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> At Christmas I love being able to create a few handmade gifts with just a few supplies.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> Here are two that I've been working on:</span></div>
<br />
<br />
<u><strong><span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">First: Christmas Countdown</span></strong></u><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2B-qr8FBXK598lwSvmt7kCDdsHFk3ObPuQAX2mUMfZdjzc40IiNUUkNbHvVhwPGPJCOZap33t6y7CrDuTA3lSlxutPlymIxmYneTDmf1cbAWC_rFhjOR5tWzUjMdIJuMB-UlJsctFzA0A/s1600/dec+blog+hop+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2B-qr8FBXK598lwSvmt7kCDdsHFk3ObPuQAX2mUMfZdjzc40IiNUUkNbHvVhwPGPJCOZap33t6y7CrDuTA3lSlxutPlymIxmYneTDmf1cbAWC_rFhjOR5tWzUjMdIJuMB-UlJsctFzA0A/s640/dec+blog+hop+2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><strong>Close to My Heart</strong> Products used: 1 Sheet Sparkle & Shine Paper ($9.95 / paper pack), 1 Sheet Chalkboard Paper ($4.95/ sheet), Chalk Pen ($2.95), Sparkle & Shine Washi Tape ($14.95 for 3 rolls), Glitter Tape ($4.95 / roll), Clear Sparkles ($2.95/ 108 piece set), Ruby Mini Medley Accents ($5.95/set), Embossing Stylus (this item is now disc, but a bone folder or ball point pen would work as well).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Plus: A 9"x12" canvas dollar store frame, edges painted with black acrylic paint and a "borrowed" piece of chalk from my son.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I have a chalkboard Art addiction. I know I've discussed it on here before. I love it! And, creating a project like this is super easy with CTMH 12" x 12" Chalkboard sheets. I simply create the basic design as a "word" document and print it. I then trace over the text onto the chalkboard paper using the stylus, pressing hard. You then go over the embossing on the Chalkboard paper with the chalk pen. You tracing disappears and the whole thing looks hand done. Then you can add a few hand drawn embellishments as you like.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I Matted this chalkboard sheet on Spark & Shine paper (had a tough time deciding which design as they are all so lovely). Then I used washi tape and the bakers twine in the "Ruby Mini Medley" pack to create the banner. I used the laundry clips to secure the banner ends.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Each snowflake has a sparkle in the middle.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">All you have to do is erase the # each day and re write with real chalk. Everything else is permanent so you don't have to worry about wiping away.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span><br />
<strong><u><span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">Second: Christmas Cracker</span></u></strong><br />
<strong><u><span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: large;"></span></u></strong><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><strong>Close to My Heart</strong> products used: Sparkle & Shine Paper ($9.95 / pack), Santa Claus Stamp set ($13.95, Black Glitter paper ($5.95/ 3 sheets), embossing stylus, Glue dots and disc. Black fishnet ribbon.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Non- CTMH: Snaps - Michaels, Various little gifts, joke and tissue hat</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I love making Christmas Crackers - I make them with the kids and they love the "poppers" (I start looking for .as soon as Michaels puts out their Christmas as they always sell out, I usually buy several packs as they are only $2.95/ dozen).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Start with a 6"x12" piece of paper, using the embossing stylus, create a fold line 3.5" in from each short end. Before rolling up, I attached the Ruby cardstock that I overstamped with the "Ho, Ho, Ho" in Ruby ink. Then I rolled the paper up, securing the long edge with Sook Wang (or other really sticky tape). Feed the "snap" through the tube and secure at one end with a glue dot. using the embossed fold line as a guide, crunch the paper in and gather tightly, secure one end with ribbon. Fill the cavity in the middle with goodies and then secure the other side with ribbon. Now you may add any embellishment you like.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I am making these with my Sons kindergarten class next week. Super easy and fun for the kids!</span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Thanks for taking the time to look at my projects. I love your feedback!</span></strong></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span></strong> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Merry Christmas! </span></strong></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span></strong> </div>

Merry Christmas...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I love this time of year when I can go glitter crazy with Christmas card ideas. I also love that there are lots of Crops where I can teach Make n Takes and my hostess group so I can fully explore all the great card Ideas I've pinned away and been dream up over the year.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's always so hard for me to narrow down which ideas to try and teach... Time is always my biggest constraint - can I fit this into a 2 hour class time slot or an under an hour Make n take?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Last night my Hostess Club came and we crafted the following cards:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
We waited on pins and needles to finally see the gorgeous Close to my Heart <strong>Mini Holiday With Heart Gift Guide. </strong>Then we Consultants had to wait a few weeks to share the goodness with our customers . . . well, the wait was more that worth it. This Guide is full of Goodies.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My Favorite is the Sparkle and Shine Paper Pack! I love it, I'm a sucker for the traditional Christmas colours . . but this has a great modern twist.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Just one disappointment . . . I've been loving the variety of Christmas Papers with a hint of black that I've been seeing everywhere. But, no matter . . .I just added black to a few of my cards to get that old fashioned Christmas look that I've been loving.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So these are a few of the cards I've come up with for various crops and classes this season, incorporating a few great ideas I've come across over the last few months "researching" (read wasting time on Pinterest).</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_dltBC5pg15Fdp7DnUhUWXTecnrzk4KO9oD6nc1ojZqgjtEuK5C_YCPsN8Xbm6ufbhzbjwZd7sWrAoKpNdEdT-lpsNc-8Zuj1zoRPQ2wImh-ZdwJsMgIJ7KUoYOYelsiaHONfoK0pN8_U/s1600/IMG_2841.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="246" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_dltBC5pg15Fdp7DnUhUWXTecnrzk4KO9oD6nc1ojZqgjtEuK5C_YCPsN8Xbm6ufbhzbjwZd7sWrAoKpNdEdT-lpsNc-8Zuj1zoRPQ2wImh-ZdwJsMgIJ7KUoYOYelsiaHONfoK0pN8_U/s320/IMG_2841.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This First Card is created using the "Dryer sheet" technique. If you Google "dryer sheet card" you will find several youtube videos on how to create this look. Basically, you pre-stamp your background (the trees) and then cover with an ironed, used dryer sheet. I used spray adhesive - seemed to work best. Then sprinkle Prisma glitter over the image and rub it in. The effect you get is a sparkly, deep falling snow look. A little weird . .but I rather like the effect. The sentiment is an old CTMH stamp . . .but one I just love.<br />

<br />
This next card is very simple, yet I really like it for it's simplicity. And, I totally scraplifted the design from: <a href="http://inkypinkies.blogspot.ca/2013/05/merry-monday-clean-simple-red-white.html">http://inkypinkies.blogspot.ca/2013/05/merry-monday-clean-simple-red-white.html</a><br />
<br />
This is a surprisingly fast card to make: First Stamp the front tree, then second generation stamp the other two in the background. I cut a piece of our red Glitter tape to (sort of) look like a bird and stuck it down.<br />
<br />
Then I tore a piece of cardstock for the bottom. Used our bonding memories glue along the edge and sprinkled with prisma glitter. Once I tapped the excess glitter off, I stamped my sentiment.<br />

So these are the two cards that I added a bit of black to. Using the Sparkle and Shine paper pack. Again - I lifted these designs from: <a href="http://www.kimscardkits.com/Christmas-Cheer-Card-Kit--12-Cards_p_349.html">http://www.kimscardkits.com/Christmas-Cheer-Card-Kit--12-Cards_p_349.html</a> I just did the first two . . . you can see with different Stamp Sets and Paper the look is quite different. However, I simplified mine a bit to keep a crisp, clean look.<br />
<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed viewing my samples along with the rest of the art work on this Cross Canada Blog Hop. But I really hope you get a chance to play with some of the great products in our Mini Holiday Gift Guide soon!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>I chose to Focus on the 6"x6" Canvas's for the May 2013 Cross Canada Blog Hop.</strong></span></div>
<br />
For this Project I used the 6"x6" Canvas's at $4.95 each, Whisper, Desert Sand and Outdoor Denim cardstock at $14.95 per 24 sheets, Vintage Type Stamp Set at $17.95, Various CTMH ribbon, twine and embellishments and the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge at $99.00.<br />
<br />
I had these family pics done of my Boys in December 2012. I was looking for a way to display them that was fun, but didn't take away from the pictures too much. So I chose solid colour cardstock in colours that co-ordinated with the (co-ordinating but NOT matching) outfits the Boys wore. I then chose to use the circles in the Vintage Type set and random stamped the Whisper cardstock - full sheet 12x12 before cutting to 6"x6" pieces. I chose inks in the same colour family.<br />
<br />
Each photo is matted on Desert Sand cardstock and then I used the cricut to cut their first Initial in the Outdoor Denim.<br />
<br />
Still using the Vintage Type Stamp set, I stamped "Live", "Love", and "Laugh" on the separate photo's. How did I choose who got which word? Easy! Our Middle Son, Josh, is a 5 year Cancer Survivor!!! He gets LIVE - for sure. The other two were a draw. And I think the words actually suit the boys individual personalities very well!<br />
<br />
I attached each completed 6"x6" page to the canvas using our Glue Dots (pg 132 $7.50).<br />
<br />
The 6"x6" canvas can be used for so many more options . . . one minute on Pinterest will have your head spinning with ways to use them, I promise.<br />
<br />
And really, I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered them. But these are sturdy, well made little canvases with picture hangers already attached (mind this location when attaching your paper and pics - one child was hanging sideways at first).<br />
<br />

This featuring the Buzz and Bumble Paper Pack that CTMH introduced this Spring. I am in love with this little bumble bee, and our alcohol markers do a great job colouring the bum.<br />

For this layout I started with our Kraft Cardstock as a base. The Kraft paper is super versatile. I then edge distressed various items and the base with our sponge daubers and chocolate ink. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I titled this blog "whats the Buzz", because that was the original title for the layout as you see here:</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The ladies doing my make-n-take said that Mother's Day layouts were not so great because there are never any MOM pictures, as she's theone behind the camera. So I changed the title for them to "whats the Buzz . . .which they said was much better. But when I began to prep for my Hostess Club I decided that that couldnt be true and I went back to my orginal Mothers Day Layout plan. Guess what? The only pictures I could find of myself were the family portraits we did last Christmas and few horrid ones of me asleep with our toddler taken by my hubby.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I guess its true! Anyway, I've decided to give my Club ladies the choice tonight! We'll see how it goes! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Whats your Vote?</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Meanwhile - remind me to schedule my husband for a Mother's Day photo shoot with my kids! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hope you enjoy my interpretation of the Buzz and Bumble paper pack!</div>

<br />
<strong> </strong>This is a great Home décor project that is trendy, easy, fun and CHEAP!!!<br />
<br />
The CTMH products used: 12x12 Chalkboard Paper ($4.95), Chalkboard Pen ($2.95), Dry Embossing Stylus ($3.25),Pink Glitter Gems, CTMH assorted paper & crochet flower Embellishments $5.95/pack), Leaves made with CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy and Olive Card Stock.<br />
<br />
Other Products used: Dollar Store 12x12 1"thick Canvas Frame and Dollar Store acrylic black paint.<br />
<br />
Something this good obviously isn't my own. I saw this on Pinterest and fell in Love:<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow love this - my next project for the CTMH chalkboard Paper!" class="PinImageImg" data-id="121456521172379099" data-src="http://media-cache-ec3.pinterest.com/192x/a3/e3/30/a3e330b1f42d2a9d698d6e6e3276b2da.jpg" height="320" src="http://media-cache-ec3.pinterest.com/550x/a3/e3/30/a3e330b1f42d2a9d698d6e6e3276b2da.jpg" style="opacity: 1;" width="212" /></div>
This is the Perfect combination of my love of gardening and my current love of Chalkboard Art. If you go here: <a href="http://www.ellaclaireinspired.com/">www.ellaclaireinspired.com</a> created and blogged the above. You should find complete step by step instructions on her site, however, I just used the print out she created, and copied it to a word document to fit my 12x12 chalkboard paper and print out. You could make any quote you like . . . and just playing around with various word fonts and sizes come up with something very personal and cool for you or a loved one. If you look at my December 2012 posts you should find some Christmas Variations I did, one using scripture for a friend and one more generic "Happy Holidays".<br />
<br />
So once you have your base design printed out and flourishes the way you like you are going to tape the chalkboard paper onto a work mat (the CTMH Versa Mat is Perfect) then tape your printout on top. You will then firmly trace over the whole design with your Embossing Stylus.<br />
<br />
Remove your top paper and your entire design should be just visible enough to go over with the chalkboard pen, but not so much that you see it after you've drawn on it.<br />
<br />
Carefully trace over all the lines and words. Start at the top and work your way down so that your hand doesn't drag over the ink. It dries very fast, can be removed with a baby wipe if your act fast. But the chalkboard pen is PERMANENT and doesn't smudge or wipe off after its dry. (If you have an emergency - like forgot a letter - you can try acetone free nail polish remover with a Q-tip just gently wipe at the words). You may wish to go over a few lines twice to get thicker colour or thicker line.<br />
<br />
When this is done and dry you remove the adhesive backing of the chalkboard paper and stick the whole page down onto your prepared canvas (use black paint to cover the white sides and first 1/2 inch of top of canvas and let dry completely). Now you can embellish with the flowers, leaves and Glitter Gems.<br />
<br />
Cost of the finished product is under $15 in CTMH product (not including AP Cartridge) plus another $3-$4 at the Dollar store.<br />
<br />
I have given several of these pieces away now and friends have genuinely LOVED them. This one is for me though! Sits perched on a shelf above our coat hooks in the entry way as a welcome to guests and a reminder to me!<br />
<br />
Thanks for joining me on my first ever Cross Canada Blog Hop! <br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSRfBpC8e1rQQI1raMrZ-FDSgcDXh8aCE0jGUYCKo7834vaTjFuwxrb-_s_5NQPChmTA5bhWA48VxUiEY6E9Fo8xdm4xE1OWt14rkrPsUZ24mIBFr6WNQK0eImLnO06ug06fQi8zC7IOpp/s1600/CTMH+art+dec+2012+003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img bea="true" border="0" height="317" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSRfBpC8e1rQQI1raMrZ-FDSgcDXh8aCE0jGUYCKo7834vaTjFuwxrb-_s_5NQPChmTA5bhWA48VxUiEY6E9Fo8xdm4xE1OWt14rkrPsUZ24mIBFr6WNQK0eImLnO06ug06fQi8zC7IOpp/s320/CTMH+art+dec+2012+003.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I have been dying to try CTMH's new Chalkboard sheets ($4.95 ea) and Chalk Markers ($2.95 ea). So I ordered them . . . and then did a little research on Chalkboard Art and Subway Art .<br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
I saw this:</div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPYtGx-16PHz-4Aak5iYfy8ry7yWu53WjuPqzrZ3G91aCkxFZCJ4L7bWCcytQmm4pZFddY62fTx0wlBAzoILuKpD4mgoZeZQF3c1VN9w6O5uRhjyAmpBdlAzpgsl-HHTkCpmGjmJ6jujWZ/s1600/luke+2+11+christmas+chalkboard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img bea="true" border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPYtGx-16PHz-4Aak5iYfy8ry7yWu53WjuPqzrZ3G91aCkxFZCJ4L7bWCcytQmm4pZFddY62fTx0wlBAzoILuKpD4mgoZeZQF3c1VN9w6O5uRhjyAmpBdlAzpgsl-HHTkCpmGjmJ6jujWZ/s320/luke+2+11+christmas+chalkboard.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
At "Growing Up Gardner" by Amanda Gardner and immediately thought of a good friend. So . . .I decided to make my own.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
But I was scared, I didnt want to freehand it, didn't want to waste a sheet of Chalkboard paper. The maker is not erasable!</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
So, I took a deep breath and did this:</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
I printed the whole saying out as a word document - selecting different fonts.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
I laid this over the the Chalkboard sheet and used the embossing stylus to trace (firmly) over all the words.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
You can faintly see the lines, just enough to cover up and trace with the Chalk marker. I added the star and Manger freehand.</div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">So I guess we can all agree that not only am I a terrible writer . . .but I'm horribly inconsistant with this whole "Blog" thing. Please do not take this as a reflection of my passion for scrapbooking and Cardmaking and all. In fact it's the complete opposite: I am SO busy just creating that I forget to get out my camera, take a few pics along the way and share. </span></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">

This Card is made on our 6x6 Kraft card & envelope set. I used all the papers is P&P to create the pattern "quilt" and then used the Cricut AP to cut the leaves and red Glitter Gliz gel for the berries. The stamp is from the Octovber Stamp of the month. I glued down the flap on the inside to create a picture or gift card pocket and decorated it too:</div>

My final Christmas Card only has a hint of Pear & Partridge . . .okay, I admit . . .was getting a little tired of red and green. Plus, I have a snowflake addiction. So I took White Daisy card stock and sprayed with water, pearl paint and crystal blue re-inker, once it dried, I used a variety of snowflake stamps and radom stamped first and second generation all over. the effect is snowflakes that look near and far away. I wanted to look out the "window" into a snow storm. Now, I was at a crop and didn't have any of my other cardstock with me (besides P &P colours). . so I bought some from Sandra @ Making Memories (she has a portable store and attends many local Crops). So the base is grey and the window frame is Navy . . .Would be equal to Slate and Outdoor Denim I think.<br />
<br />
So My next Project was to complete one of our new Advent Calendars . . .I didn't use the kit ('cause I'm terrible at following someone else's plan) I just used CTMH cardstock and pattern paper and the base box. I used our Kraft Paper for all the 2.5" squares because I thought it was a little sturdier for little kids to play with. <br />
<br />
I think I might try to sell this one though . . since I made two lovely advent calendars last year and don't really need another . . .<br />

And there were a few learning curves on this . . like I used a tape runner to create the pages and stick to the canvas and then only modgepodged on top . . . so there are wrinkles. Again, using the Cricut Artise, and you can't really tell from the terrible picture (Please Santa bring me a new digital SLR) but we second generation stamped the entire background with the Universal Borders stamp to create a nice background and used the Keepsake Alphabet to stamp "dear Santa". I love that stamp set! <br />

<br />
Those of you who know me know that I. am. not. a. COUNTRY. girl. But some of you who know me <u>very</u> well know that just once a year, secretly, I AM!<br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
So when I first saw the new Dakota Paper pack, I dismissed it as not for me. And what do I do when I have that thought? I buy the paper pack and it usually becomes one of my favorites. At first it was just the super cute Denim Pocket Stamp "Rugged Dude" shown here:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdLJovIN2HTb64MkZfSXHFB4vGsfv_pnF0k5ZOwH9j4y5_S2mZt8bjPZGB53IXP463GAqbelS0Y1mE32ThOQfTdeQQh9VeP3nX7XStTLsrozMEv_uajTYo0RGUNVAaeesW9sxkHJonV27d/s1600/CTMH+Rugged+Dude.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdLJovIN2HTb64MkZfSXHFB4vGsfv_pnF0k5ZOwH9j4y5_S2mZt8bjPZGB53IXP463GAqbelS0Y1mE32ThOQfTdeQQh9VeP3nX7XStTLsrozMEv_uajTYo0RGUNVAaeesW9sxkHJonV27d/s320/CTMH+Rugged+Dude.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I thought this was really cute and not JUST country . . .so I ordered it. Even though I didn't use it in this layout - It did start me down this road!<br />
<br />
And then a cabin friend (who knows me <u>very</u> well) sent me pictures of my youngest little guy dressed up for Western Weekend at the cabin. And realized that Dakota really would be the perfect paper pack to scrapbook these pictures. But there it is in colour, if you look really closely, out of focus - me, in pig tails, denim shirt and all. A Country Girl! Watching my gorgeous little guy and his friends dance to great Music of the "Hong Kong Cow Boy". This guy is amazing, for country music.<br />
<br />
So I came up with this layout for my September Hostess Club this week. I hope the ladies will forgive me this little slip into the world of boots, horses, denim and hay.<br />
<br />
The layout is from CTMH's newwest pattern book "Make it from your Heart", pattern #9.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I bought the Workshop on the go, because I love the stamp set that comes exclusively with the WOG you can see all the Stamped images are from that. Or check out the latest CTMH idea book to view.<br />
<br />
Finally I took black cardstock, misted it with a combination of chocolate ink and pearl paint to give it a glittery almost hammered metal look. I glued the letters to the coordinating CTMH chipboard letters and distressed the edges with our files . . .looks a beat up and Country to me. Now I've just gotta finish the other facing page for my own scrapbook with the remaining evidence, err pictures.<br />
<br />
Hope Hostess Club enjoys it as much as I did creating it . . .now back to my regularly scheduled, non-Country programming!<br />
<br />

With 14 and 12 year old boys in the house computer time is getting more and more limited. If I can't do it on my ipad or iphone it doesn't seem to get done.<br />
<br />
But now . . gloriously, all three kids are in school!! So I can finally post.<br />
<br />
And this isnt terribly exciting . . I'm actually just trying to Post to my CTMH Bulletin Board, but can't post a pic unless it has a URL and to have a URL it seems I need to save the pic somewhere on the WWW. OH my, it's all above my head <strike>some</strike> most days.<br />
<br />
Anyway this is the latest project I've been working on: Scratch and Win tickets for the upcoming BC Crop for Kids:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1X8UBq3eC2WepxGRV8wAcrO-8fHMX-qkwqIeHO__k_7gYOsLJ1OOiyQVWto6YOF0ZsoBPc1tUG67l3M9XEbZ8Uu55FV0mtxa2qLnFcqXdWht33hewWz_7Ke0TcQ7G_hCPA-YdSl63lQN2/s1600/ctmh+scratch+ticket+017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1X8UBq3eC2WepxGRV8wAcrO-8fHMX-qkwqIeHO__k_7gYOsLJ1OOiyQVWto6YOF0ZsoBPc1tUG67l3M9XEbZ8Uu55FV0mtxa2qLnFcqXdWht33hewWz_7Ke0TcQ7G_hCPA-YdSl63lQN2/s320/ctmh+scratch+ticket+017.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I saw this idea on Pinterest and immediately saw marketing opportunities for CTMH.<br />
<br />
I used the CTMH gathering invitation postcards, and then pritned our info on one side of the back.<br />
<br />
I then used staples 2"x4" labels to create individual discount / prize tags:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizFyBgmf0uuHHrnFQMQyJmdLuwdsunEB5LaX3xSHzBmsTj9pBkhfbGsetz_Zd1C-0Z6frbsyf_pSzaYnZRQ2bNkwbCNBpq-QIH5lBeD3T7KLScPTk8GA_HkMJ3ewMttt3KT77dPvDqOz6c/s1600/ctmh+scratch+ticket+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizFyBgmf0uuHHrnFQMQyJmdLuwdsunEB5LaX3xSHzBmsTj9pBkhfbGsetz_Zd1C-0Z6frbsyf_pSzaYnZRQ2bNkwbCNBpq-QIH5lBeD3T7KLScPTk8GA_HkMJ3ewMttt3KT77dPvDqOz6c/s320/ctmh+scratch+ticket+001.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I then used packing tape to cover the "scratch off" part of the tag.<br />
<br />
Then you use a combination of Silver paint and dish soap (4:1) to paint over the taped area:<br />
<br />
(Please excuse my messy work area, should have edited that pic before I saved it!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOqHQoM4Pepu400vwZrsysJz04VF3RmyEhjEZjZOHztqd4ubvdfbr_-nyj-EWtHHosJcUF67DyToi_nMSXibEWbeZ7pdpKGh91V3kCpV6r_gPS9S_toDwASmb9m30J5l0mvC7YRRktJ1ij/s1600/ctmh+scratch+ticket+008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOqHQoM4Pepu400vwZrsysJz04VF3RmyEhjEZjZOHztqd4ubvdfbr_-nyj-EWtHHosJcUF67DyToi_nMSXibEWbeZ7pdpKGh91V3kCpV6r_gPS9S_toDwASmb9m30J5l0mvC7YRRktJ1ij/s320/ctmh+scratch+ticket+008.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Finally I leet dry for about an hour and then trimmed to size (2x4) and then peeled and stuck to the left side of the post card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Voila!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOmDvilnLFDlC7-7EaWUGvdNKGsKbr5TVJo-M5MulwviytmfAhIUGS8bNgcBtVw78197kn1eY8nLpDDHi-GjNgQ95sK2H_LiveDpvvHaMHnZ9H-M-YzpE9sP-pKyuBe188Frzl-FBl2JfV/s1600/ctmh+scratch+ticket+013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOmDvilnLFDlC7-7EaWUGvdNKGsKbr5TVJo-M5MulwviytmfAhIUGS8bNgcBtVw78197kn1eY8nLpDDHi-GjNgQ95sK2H_LiveDpvvHaMHnZ9H-M-YzpE9sP-pKyuBe188Frzl-FBl2JfV/s320/ctmh+scratch+ticket+013.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Individual CTMH scratch and Win tickets!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My kids love them so much I am thinking of doing this for household chores too!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can use this technique on any paper surface, so you could print, stamp, draw etc your own ticket and then use the tape / paint trick to create your hidden scratch off area.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A fun, easy and super cheap trick - I had everything at home in my stash of crafty stuff! but you could pick supplies up at the dollar store.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lots of possibilities, try a few and let me know how it works out!</div>

Lots of planning for October 2012's Crop for Kids Class and our Satellite CFK event in May 2012 . . .but I just haven't been taking pictures and blogging it.<br />
<br />
Sorry. I'm sure you'll forgive me.<br />
<br />
I've also been a bit of a garden FREAK . . . over the last six weeks I have built and filled with dirt 9 raised cedar garden beds, a green house, and an indoor seedling grow area. With the help of these handy florescent lights I've got happy little seedlings of pumpkins, squash, zucchini, tomatos, onions, and various herbs. Now if warmer weather ever arrives outside I'll be able to get the rest going and hope to have a pretty decent veggie & fruit crop this year. I could blog about my garden on this blog . . . and I might. I might also blog about my recent 30+ freezer meals in a day cook-off . . . but for now, lets focus on Scrapbooking!<br />
<br />
Tomorrow night (. . . hmm what time is it? Maybe it's TONIGHT!) is Hostess Club. We haven't met since the end of January. while I've know for a while that I'd be using the "Stella" paper pack, I hadn't finalized a layout yet. I've recently been scanning Pinterest (my other latest time waster) and found a great little layout that had hexagons (oh how that "Wicked" stamp of the Month from Fall 2011 has me in love with hexagons still). I hope I am crediting right . .because Pinterest can be a little iffy on getting the original source . . .But from the Studio Calico Website, they highlighted work by their member "Mandie Pierce" (who has her own blog "like a lemon to a lime and a lime to a lemon". Anyway, that Layout inspired this one using Stella:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirW2YwgMNKjjxo_HMZq4qb0FLLRLQWMiMYCa3Bx8KyFHb_K5Oprd81cOlqv1X3aY1y8jBzUFmq4ShLsx1TdZz6_FPPlsu9EfKOzNPG2BY3fUoBRmd5HytnJ3UmMRBtFNQ1SS-aDQLoWqbk/s1600/Maya+Layout.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="611" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirW2YwgMNKjjxo_HMZq4qb0FLLRLQWMiMYCa3Bx8KyFHb_K5Oprd81cOlqv1X3aY1y8jBzUFmq4ShLsx1TdZz6_FPPlsu9EfKOzNPG2BY3fUoBRmd5HytnJ3UmMRBtFNQ1SS-aDQLoWqbk/s640/Maya+Layout.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>The technique I'm teaching is dying the seam binding tape (and thanks for all the suggestions found on the CTMH BB!). Here is a close-up:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb0o5i0Jod_SVmlocriZv4E8x7I875JMfzAG1ViJJ3i63EMWGJa6HPHva1Mc6ANEd-V153TBBCoq38lAMZIJ9yIU-ROdl3o1FydJcgntSCCL7loXwyPo_Hh_pte2XOu8pW17LxJhkmmUOd/s1600/Maya+layout+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="306" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb0o5i0Jod_SVmlocriZv4E8x7I875JMfzAG1ViJJ3i63EMWGJa6HPHva1Mc6ANEd-V153TBBCoq38lAMZIJ9yIU-ROdl3o1FydJcgntSCCL7loXwyPo_Hh_pte2XOu8pW17LxJhkmmUOd/s320/Maya+layout+2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
And why am I thanking Jeanette? Because of her great blog . . .again! This week she gave a great idea for Journaling: writing a letter to the subject of the Photo. This was all the inspiration I needed. I had a few pictures of my Parents adorable, somewhat evil, puppy and wanted to do something with them. This seemed perfect. <br />
<br />
I hope my Hostess Club likes it. Oh, and when dying the seam binding, however you do it, wear gloves!<br />
<br />
Signing off with my still "sunset" hands,<br />
<br />
Karen.<br />
<br />
I'll try not to be such a stranger.Karen Hauglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10103013043168496288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7762752402128561474.post-78386898673561442622012-01-30T23:36:00.000-08:002012-01-30T23:36:00.587-08:00Love, Actually . . .I showed you the card from Jeanette Lynton's blog that inspired my new addiction . . .well, I've had to make a few more cards since then.<br />
<br />
First, it was a card for a donation to the Make a Wish Foundation in the name of a local young boy who lost his battle with brain cancer just before christmas. His relaspe was fast (just 12 days after completing front line therapy) and agressive. The Make a Wish Foundation jumped through hoops to make an early Christmas possible for this young guy, as it was clear he wouldn't make it to his initial wish request, or Christmas. This brave young boy had two final requests: a puppy for his big brother, so he wouldn't be too lonely and for his friends and family to raise funds in his name to grant another childs wish. <br />
The Make a Wish Foundation is very near and dear to my heart, my own 12 y/o son is a Cancer survivor and recieved a Wish in 2008. So we are happy to be able to donate. This childs favorite colour was red, and the Make a Wish logo is a blue shooting star, so I came up with this card:<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYj-Tba7aCV6F3tNp9LQD3h1fVPmNL0Q2VVxnp_aFZ0NGaoKJfejiDz0kQaIBBKBULgyEWL5TjQZcTK_RRKozJnttFuFSLsLm6pjWaqcHB-8sYB7bh6SUOAWWMW6kfZD6AMzPC9h5LOv2W/s1600/IMG_0627.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" gda="true" height="205px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYj-Tba7aCV6F3tNp9LQD3h1fVPmNL0Q2VVxnp_aFZ0NGaoKJfejiDz0kQaIBBKBULgyEWL5TjQZcTK_RRKozJnttFuFSLsLm6pjWaqcHB-8sYB7bh6SUOAWWMW6kfZD6AMzPC9h5LOv2W/s320/IMG_0627.JPG" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">But I guess that wasn't enough . . . so today my most recent order arrived and I like to give my customers something small as a thank you. So I made them each a Valentine's card, I write my message on a Post-it note so that they can re-use the card for a loved one. This was super quick and easy, thanks to the AP cricut:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi08XVEsyv_sUL2jq5PgSHpN34WgrBEa09rLSgrtQtwPbT7t7_DZnkEgrhW-WCtmc0Hpl8qhpwOmTqrVzuj1MAtSKbMKvtD7W4KNIsjgz2-HOLX9u1OKhga0ewloU5FuVDC9koeVDCsISiF/s1600/IMG_0639.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" gda="true" height="320px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi08XVEsyv_sUL2jq5PgSHpN34WgrBEa09rLSgrtQtwPbT7t7_DZnkEgrhW-WCtmc0Hpl8qhpwOmTqrVzuj1MAtSKbMKvtD7W4KNIsjgz2-HOLX9u1OKhga0ewloU5FuVDC9koeVDCsISiF/s320/IMG_0639.JPG" width="289px" /></a></div><br />
Oh, what will I come up with next . . . . hope there's a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow addiction!<br />
<br />
Thanks for looking!<br />

The clean and simple rainbow cards blew me away. I love that simplicity. I love the crisp and clean lines. <br />

I've been busy working on ideas for the 2012 BC Crop for Kids class I'll be doing next fall all week, none of it can encorporate these ideas (I tried - my partner in crime and upline Nadene Jung axed it). I may share my ideas later if BCCFK agrees . . . they kinda like to keep their classes a secret right up until registration time and that does make it so much fun! Anyway . . . I couldn't get the rainbow cards out of my mind and was thrilled when my Husband asked me if I'd make a card for the wedding gift for one of his employees getting married tomorrow.<br />
<br />
My Reply?<br />
<br />
Oh Even Yesser! (phrase stollen from the Mommy's over at Rants from Mommyland)<br />
<br />
So this is the card that our creative Close to My Heart designers came up with:<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8TtYMvOn95j-6cjcLSwXbHsgVeHL6rNmaXHD_e8uZvjXgV1EDQxk0PUJWkXjGPdupFqH2bFUDqkxM6A1AuN5XuDVPUfdx6khXY0_ZHKLeUIquIIi-HtOwqhusl2bmVBTL6GRvYqRReVFx/s1600/jeanette+blog+rainbow+card.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; height: 320px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; width: 357px;"><img border="0" gda="true" height="400px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8TtYMvOn95j-6cjcLSwXbHsgVeHL6rNmaXHD_e8uZvjXgV1EDQxk0PUJWkXjGPdupFqH2bFUDqkxM6A1AuN5XuDVPUfdx6khXY0_ZHKLeUIquIIi-HtOwqhusl2bmVBTL6GRvYqRReVFx/s400/jeanette+blog+rainbow+card.jpg" width="320px" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And this is the version I came up with for the wedding gift:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-eCONK9emPvo_6p22tvgp32NoV6qS5orgvCP-V_uWvSgWRtpCwOPUFvXMcmAa3BFpfjWkWnLlgbxw1RKtWk0EIDitV1szMBkG3T8wA4L_UQy-nBNXYx-OR2tJE9CETRPoIM5qnKEhZsyX/s1600/IMG_0625.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" gda="true" height="400px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-eCONK9emPvo_6p22tvgp32NoV6qS5orgvCP-V_uWvSgWRtpCwOPUFvXMcmAa3BFpfjWkWnLlgbxw1RKtWk0EIDitV1szMBkG3T8wA4L_UQy-nBNXYx-OR2tJE9CETRPoIM5qnKEhZsyX/s400/IMG_0625.JPG" width="305px" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
You might notice that I'm still on a bit of a glitter kick . . . sorry. The inside has the heart cut-out with the Bride and Grooms initials stamped on it and our personal sentiment.<br />

Thanks for looking and please share how Jeanette's blog has inspired you!Karen Hauglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10103013043168496288noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7762752402128561474.post-78419448146991370262012-01-19T14:18:00.000-08:002012-01-19T14:18:39.381-08:00I still Believe . . .<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Tomorrow night is Hostess Club! Yay, it feels like forever since my ladies came over for an evening of creating. Tomorrow I hope not to dissapoint as this months layout will leave a sparkling impression!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It was very hard to NOT use paper from the new idea book for tomorrow's hostess Club. however, new Idea Book doesn't go live until Feb 1 . . . so I sucked it up ("put on my big girl panties" as I heard at a crop last weekend) and we are doing a Christmas layout. Lord may I not be the only person who hasn't even started scrapping Christmas . . . 2010 . . . yet.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">My first point of inspiration, as often, was the CTMH bulletin board for consultants to share their artwork, idea and thoughts. I found two layouts I loved: one by Twyla Norris worked well within the parametres that I wanted (single page, santa photo 5x7). But then I searched a little more and found a layout by Brenda Rose that had a technique I have never done - mixing embossing powder with glitter and then heat embossing. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Well combine the genius of Twyla and Brenda (seriously these are two talented ladies, google them!) and I got this:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmDbvVQykxetAsyQmepfsLK5t6aBgQzl-lpNY_suPUrY8vtoMU60RENr9KRywbwVGb-OKmqPtvuEu6iYMgHFcUolMrLApGADps0Beb_EPyDPXoocFvZq0w6tgoe__tjmtnWVS1jEng-dCl/s1600/IMG_0611.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="283px" nfa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmDbvVQykxetAsyQmepfsLK5t6aBgQzl-lpNY_suPUrY8vtoMU60RENr9KRywbwVGb-OKmqPtvuEu6iYMgHFcUolMrLApGADps0Beb_EPyDPXoocFvZq0w6tgoe__tjmtnWVS1jEng-dCl/s320/IMG_0611.JPG" width="320px" /></span></a></div><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzIrgaCKLWgfIe8cOc75oKEXwfhv2Iva1Uz8vCKhD9hlUw0kJYJSkhquVzbkmQw6HRXPeY44AdhtiG7yqJ5ug_8ikWrTK-GDloPqE9DcmrSRTxDOCOPdilDt5n3DY7J7NIwEYi2Hf8rOME/s1600/IMG_0612.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="240px" nfa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzIrgaCKLWgfIe8cOc75oKEXwfhv2Iva1Uz8vCKhD9hlUw0kJYJSkhquVzbkmQw6HRXPeY44AdhtiG7yqJ5ug_8ikWrTK-GDloPqE9DcmrSRTxDOCOPdilDt5n3DY7J7NIwEYi2Hf8rOME/s320/IMG_0612.JPG" width="320px" /></span></a></div><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I love how crisp the white & prisma glitter embossing turned out right on the red. Then I used the AP Cricut to cut out snowflakes in white and sky blue. I covered in bonding memories glue and dipped them in prisma glitter. You probably can't tell from the photo but I also glued glitter to the brads using liquid glass. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Finally . . because I just couldn't help myself . . I did use one new item from the new idea book. I used the adhesive springs! The large snowflake is attached with an adhesive spring so it bounces and sproings about in a glittery way.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Hope my ladies enjoy it, I have so much fun creating for them!</span>Karen Hauglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10103013043168496288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7762752402128561474.post-45836375987323684192012-01-04T13:23:00.000-08:002012-01-04T13:23:54.140-08:00Happy New Year - Newsletter<div class="MsoBodyText3" style="mso-pagination: none; padding-bottom: 2.85pt; padding-left: 2.85pt; padding-right: 2.85pt; padding-top: 2.85pt; text-align: left;" v:shape="_x0000_s1146"><span style="language: EN; line-height: 110%; mso-ansi-language: EN; mso-cyrillic-font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'; mso-greek-font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><strong>It's Here, it's here . . My starry creation is finished, Now I just need to add some fresh greens and ribbon and this mantle creation is done.<br />
<br />
Still shot pics don't do it justice . . 300 sparkling mini rice lights. the whole thing is 56" long, with 3 12" stars and 2 8" stars.<br />
<br />
I am no electrician, so hopefully low lights and greenery will hide the imperfections . . but it's pretty close to what I've been imagining the last two weeks as I've slowly worked away at it.<br />
<br />
Sorry, with the exception of some liquid glass used as super glue, ther is no CTMH product on this yet. I may add to it, but for now I'm just happy it'ts standing and the lights all work . . I'm a little afraid to touch it any more than neccessary!<br />

Can't wait to put this on the Mantle tomorrow, as sit with a glass of wine and enjoy . . .Karen Hauglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10103013043168496288noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7762752402128561474.post-41134822227036373712011-11-30T15:43:00.000-08:002011-11-30T15:43:11.136-08:00I always work best with a deadline . . .My Kids help me out . . .like this morning they reminded me that they didn't "see" their Advent Calendars on the Shelf and they thought I should get them out and that I'd better go get Candy to fill it because "Tomorrow. Is. December. First!" They say this matter of factly and kindly, like "mom, don't forget I have a playdate after school" sort of way. In no way are they bossy or rude. But it is true: My best work is always done with a looming deadline, and usually between the hours of 9pm and 1am.<br />
<br />
This morning it was just a friendly reminder. So, of course they don't know their Advent Calendar is changing from last year and they also don't know I've already been to Purdy's and bought filller . . .plus a little extra.<br />
<br />
And this is what the Kids Advent Calendar looks like:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicNJjnAtcgO2NF8Rt8bpn41vr2gsKNr5RU7jCgZymA87zFI6OY_zCOr6qtjh-CYzVdTzSA-IMbN-4NhAHDy1Y-HnHJFwoD3BBPcXKyTqkYEFQh5UEnIvXKxcy28i2yri55X4SqHdE62Abh/s1600/IMG_0321.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dda="true" height="320px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicNJjnAtcgO2NF8Rt8bpn41vr2gsKNr5RU7jCgZymA87zFI6OY_zCOr6qtjh-CYzVdTzSA-IMbN-4NhAHDy1Y-HnHJFwoD3BBPcXKyTqkYEFQh5UEnIvXKxcy28i2yri55X4SqHdE62Abh/s320/IMG_0321.JPG" width="301px" /></a></div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used the Believe Paper Pack and so many stamps, embellishments, cricut AP images and ribbons that I can't list it all. This is the Kaisercraft large drawer unit (each box is roughly a 3" cube). So I have lots of room to put something for all three kids. I love that it was big enough to make each cube it's own little story / design and it all co-ordinates. I used dark brown spray paint to paint the base before I assembled it. I do still need to find some wide ribbon to wrap the outside with . . . but not today. Even as is, I think this is a vast improvement on the Starbucks Tree's we've been re-filling for the last four years.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Yes My lovies, I know; Tomorrow. Is. December. First . . . and I am ready! Let's do this Christmas thing.</div>Karen Hauglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10103013043168496288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7762752402128561474.post-38490113449575034982011-11-29T16:04:00.000-08:002011-11-29T16:04:07.140-08:00Gotta Love free babysitting . . .My husband and I consider ourselves really lucky that both of our parents live within a 2 min drive and are happy to offer up free babysitting at any old time. <br />
However, we have always found a small cost associated with each "free" babysitting event. And now that we went and had that third child a whole ten years later . . . well they probably feel as much older with this child as my husband and I do. Please know I love them all, and if they read this blog . . . I am sorry. <br />
<br />
But with child #3 the free babysitting costs are going up. Sometimes they bring their puppy who pee's all over the carpets, sometimes Mom goes out on the patio for a cigarette and the makeshift ashtray accidentally catches fire nearly setting the whole house aflame, or the time they turned the water on to do some dishes for us, but forgot and went outside and flooded the basement . . . . anyway, always a small cost.<br />
<br />
And this is today's cost: <br />
<br />
Remember my first Advent Calendar? I'll remind you, it used to look like this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqPY_J_htpwlJxzHOR5NaDrZteQTtQjm76msh7pMNaVdcbuwyeqoLEBx_NBX0adIcDtPt0dpt2GvH7UZSP04meJevYQdSBLjLl_R_SAoMFa3zs25iBUbRQg1O9uaUi-ZsW50DpDbdRwHfU/s1600/IMG_0176.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dda="true" height="265px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqPY_J_htpwlJxzHOR5NaDrZteQTtQjm76msh7pMNaVdcbuwyeqoLEBx_NBX0adIcDtPt0dpt2GvH7UZSP04meJevYQdSBLjLl_R_SAoMFa3zs25iBUbRQg1O9uaUi-ZsW50DpDbdRwHfU/s320/IMG_0176.JPG" width="320px" /></a></div><br />
<br />
I really liked it. Anyway. . . I got home a few minutes ago and this is what it looks like now:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3uGBxeiRWzDOEhw7ZDQ9L0oQ9Vpm3jR3d-CXpPRUPcDKX-EPO_5mQBdbwEWnaTX_IYsJQv-mch5bomoaxEVCtB4mAHZ_dRnmzkBv4f46R6FlcTvOX0AtOgCHLUB0pdhuvcOXy2NDwhApg/s1600/IMG_0318.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dda="true" height="282px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3uGBxeiRWzDOEhw7ZDQ9L0oQ9Vpm3jR3d-CXpPRUPcDKX-EPO_5mQBdbwEWnaTX_IYsJQv-mch5bomoaxEVCtB4mAHZ_dRnmzkBv4f46R6FlcTvOX0AtOgCHLUB0pdhuvcOXy2NDwhApg/s320/IMG_0318.JPG" width="320px" /></a></div>Lets play "spot the difference" whomever can spot all the repairs I'll need to make gets to come on over and drink a glass of wine with me while I do it . . . byob. (:<br />
<br />
My favorite part is that the Calendar was sitting perfectly on the shelf where I left it. Likemaybe I wouldn't notice that Ryan was left unattended for, oh, 20 minutes or so of unobstructed destruction. He is a boy, a 3 year old boy. Sigh.<br />
<br />
All tongue in cheek, hope you see the humour, you can choose to laugh or cry . . .I choose to laugh. And grumble a little.Karen Hauglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10103013043168496288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7762752402128561474.post-61077587081505769112011-11-29T12:35:00.000-08:002011-11-29T12:35:54.126-08:00I Believe . . .I believe it's about time I start making some cards using the "believe" paper pack. I've used it for my Advent Calendars (Second one *almost* done and will show asap) . . . but so far that was it.<br />
<br />
What inspired me was this: I e-mailed my upline, Nadene, to check out my blog to look at the make & take I was going to do at the Harry Hooge Elementary crop last weekend. <br />
<br />
Nadene forgot the link, so just googled me. She found me on another CTMH consultants website, listed as "inspiration" for a card she was showing. Nadene thought that was pretty cool, and I checked it out . . . but I thought the other cards she had up were pretty cool too! So, that inspired me to get going on my own "Believe" cards.<br />
<br />
I made these while at the Harry Hooge 12 hour crop (between 4 Make&Take sessions):<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvh-Z_cIxeopazPRX4AzjOVk4iP9ksqglaL77zADOh5owPBIJj3Mr3Gsth-Rz9WadKlBozhLqhrx1eRPdYeg_TxOme0ucrbHBHLW6jOV19W3x8BsLKjAO7J49jl8SmQjHbd5hDBPz5r7d4/s1600/IMG_0309.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dda="true" height="144px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvh-Z_cIxeopazPRX4AzjOVk4iP9ksqglaL77zADOh5owPBIJj3Mr3Gsth-Rz9WadKlBozhLqhrx1eRPdYeg_TxOme0ucrbHBHLW6jOV19W3x8BsLKjAO7J49jl8SmQjHbd5hDBPz5r7d4/s320/IMG_0309.JPG" width="320px" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Inspiration left to right: Idea Book, Vicki Wizniuk, Idea Book</div><br />
There's a reason we call it the Idea Book, People!<br />
<br />
Also, this now has me thinking . . . I guess I should be noting where I get MY inspiration from . . .a million places and OH My Gosh! I SHOULD keep track and give credit. I'm so sorry if I scraplifted from YOU!<br />
<br />
My favorite card of the day by far is this one:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNTPGnojEOnxcBj1eEeAHzIZGAWQDn7B-cJIiSgjwZR3iXPWSlr6pzLpAq4rbW8yDHI7FbXot7onh8EHHkBBp8_gisw3w0v6Q5AN6wxhI5hIxsJUjTndgBeBBoFk6ebPcmHwfTe5Cjbshyphenhyphen/s1600/IMG_0310.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dda="true" height="320px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNTPGnojEOnxcBj1eEeAHzIZGAWQDn7B-cJIiSgjwZR3iXPWSlr6pzLpAq4rbW8yDHI7FbXot7onh8EHHkBBp8_gisw3w0v6Q5AN6wxhI5hIxsJUjTndgBeBBoFk6ebPcmHwfTe5Cjbshyphenhyphen/s320/IMG_0310.JPG" width="258px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">More time consuming that the others for sure, but I really like it. And the design is literally taken from the Idea Book, pg 93 with different paper and a few minor alterations / additions.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">So I now have about 20 "personal" cards made . . .halfway there. gotta put numbers on the Advent Calendar by tomorrow night and finally . . .my star project. I'm still so excited about this. The house smells like spray paint and my hands are cramped from Cropadile-ing . . . can't wait to show you when it's done!</div><div align="left"></div>Karen Hauglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10103013043168496288noreply@blogger.com0
